Meet the Team
She has been pursuing a career in law, practising since July 2016, with her main areas of engagement being civil and commercial litigation, criminal laws, and arbitration. At present, she is working as Assistant Public Prosecutor at Directorate of Prosecution, Government of NCT of Delhi, New Delhi, India.
She has qualified UGC NET for Assistant Professorship and also keeps a keen research interest in intellectual property laws, rights of traditional communities, environmental laws and animal laws. She envisions empowered traditional communities having autonomy over their art and enterprising their craft, and is currently endeavouring towards this dear project through her Ph.D. thesis.
She is also a poetess, available at her podcast channel, 'Khamir - The Poetess Project.' Facts dissolve into fiction and fiction creates newer facts, and together they churn stories. She is inquisitive to know people's stories, perspectives, critique, thoughts, ideas and emotions. She believes that proper syntax and punctuation are crucial tools.
Urvashi Shahi is a former Senior Research Fellow at Centre for Insolvency & Bankruptcy, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. She has extensively worked on research projects funded by IBBI and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, India.
Prior to this, she was working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies(UPES), Dehradun where she taught Financial Regulation, Banking Law, Jurisprudence, etc. She has completed her master in Law(LL.M) from NALSAR University, Hyderabad & holds a specialization in corporate commercial laws.
Her main areas of interest are law & economics, especially contemporary issues in insolvency & restructuring in India. She frequently writes op-ed's on contemporary insolvency/ restructuring issues.
Shubham Mishra, a third-year law student at Jindal Global Law School, Sonepat, is our Managing Editor. Having worked as a member of Moot Court Society and being an avid debater, Shubham holds exemplary experience in researching and speaking. His belief and his working on the fact that a person should give his best shot again and again, till the person doesn't achieve the set target is what makes him an intristic part of the team.
Vaidehi Chipkar, a second-year law student at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, is our Senior Editor. An academically bright student, Vaidehi is passionate about Corporate Law and the various mechanisms under Alternate Dispute Resolution. With her detail-oriented and observational approach, she always strives to polish her work. A baker by hobby, she aims to bake each and every idea we receive.
Our Senior Editor Atmika Patnaik, is a third-year law student and an incoming exchange student to U.C. Davis School of Law, California. Not only has she worked with well-known advocates of India, she also holds an exemplary record when it comes to publications and non-academic experiences, be it by being the Secretary of the Drafting Committee of her college and an avid member in the Legal Aid Clinic or Mooting and ADRs.
Shatakshi Vats, a fourth-year law student at Amity Law School, Noida, former Deputy Chief Editor is now our Student Advisor. Enthusiastic, passionate, and an academically bright student, Shatakshi strives to learn each and every facet of law as a neophyte. She believes that mere reading and pondering over facts can help one achieve an unmatched understanding of legal concepts. With a similar approach, she strives to ponder on a piece responsibly.
Pursuing her ante-penultimate year from Symbiosis Law School, Noida, she is our Managing Editor. Optimistic, observant and motivated, she holds a staunch inclination towards the criminal and contractual side of the law. Her admirable caliber is what holds the team going. An avid learner and leader, she manages the smooth operations of the team. Thriving on challenges and goals, she works out of her comfort zone.
Arjun Ramprasad, a third-year law student at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, is our Managing Editor. Having worked as a lead designer of the college’s broadsheet, Arjun holds exemplary experience in editing and designing. His belief that responsibility and hard work is part of the journey and not the destination, makes him an intrinsic part of the team. He further aims to leave no stone unturned in doing justice to the author’s ideas.
Deokinandan Sharma, a third-year law student at Jindal Global Law School, whose main interests lie in the intricacies of Sports Law. His mild OCD makes him do well in academic work and never lose points while researching. He has the ability to manage stress and produce work that does not drop below personal standards, and that adds a feather to my cap of situations he have overcome. His interests further lie in maritime and Aerospace & Defence Law.
Philip Ashok Alex, a third-year undergraduate student at National Law University, Delhi, is our Senior Editor. He shares a deep penchant in matters relating to IP laws, public international laws and commercial arbitration. Besides taking a keen interest in mooting and debating, he also enjoys reading and writing academic pieces, which was one of the foremost reasons that motivated him to take up this responsibility at SYIN & SERN.
Pursuing her antepenultimate year, Reeti Prakash, is our Senior Editor. With a couple of internships, publications, and editorial experience, Reeti holds virtuous organising and analytical skills. With the thirst to learn, she takes interest in Business Law, Contract Law and Tax Law. She believes that even if there is a 1% chance of winning, one must not stop. With this, she brings flesh to our articles.
Muskaan Gupta, a third-year law student at Jindal Global Law School is our junior editor. She is ambitious, result-driven and holds an ideal academic record.
