Meet the Team
She has been pursuing a career in law, practising since July 2016, with her main areas of engagement being civil and commercial litigation, criminal laws, and arbitration. At present, she is working as Assistant Public Prosecutor at Directorate of Prosecution, Government of NCT of Delhi, New Delhi, India.
She has qualified UGC NET for Assistant Professorship and also keeps a keen research interest in intellectual property laws, rights of traditional communities, environmental laws and animal laws. She envisions empowered traditional communities having autonomy over their art and enterprising their craft, and is currently endeavouring towards this project through her Ph.D. thesis.
She is also a poetess, available at her podcast channel, 'Khamir - The Poetess Project.' Facts dissolve into fiction and fiction creates newer facts, and together they churn stories. She is inquisitive to know people's stories, perspectives, critiques, thoughts, ideas and emotions. She believes that proper syntax and punctuation are crucial tools.
Urvashi Shahi is a former Senior Research Fellow at Centre for Insolvency & Bankruptcy, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. She has extensively worked on research projects funded by IBBI and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, India.
Prior to this, she was working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies(UPES), Dehradun where she taught Financial Regulation, Banking Law, Jurisprudence, etc. She has completed her master in Law(LL.M) from NALSAR University, Hyderabad & holds a specialization in corporate commercial laws.
Her main areas of interest are law & economics, especially contemporary issues in insolvency & restructuring in India. She frequently writes op-ed's on contemporary insolvency/ restructuring issues.
Simran Jain, an associate at AZB & Partners, graduated from the National Law University, Delhi is our Managing Editor.
Enthusiastic, passionate, and an academically bright student, Simran strives to learn each and every facet of law as a neophyte. She believes that mere reading and pondering over facts can help one achieve an unmatched understanding of legal concepts. With a similar approach, she strives to ponder on any article responsibly.
Arjun Ramprasad, a fourth-year law student at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, is our Managing Editor.
Having worked as a lead designer of the college’s broadsheet, Arjun holds exemplary experience in editing and designing. Shubham Prakash Mishra
Shubham Mishra, a fourth-year law student at Jindal Global Law School, Sonepat, is our Managing Editor. Having worked as a member of the Moot Court Society and being an avid debater, Shubham holds exemplary experience in researching and speaking. His belief and his working on the fact that a person should give his best shot again and again, till the person doesn't achieve the set target is what makes him an intrinsic part of the team.
Pursuing her penultimate year from Symbiosis Law School, Noida, she is our Managing Editor. Optimistic, observant and motivated, she holds a staunch inclination towards the criminal and contractual side of the law. Her admirable calibre is what holds the team going. An avid learner and leader, she manages the smooth operations of the team. Thriving at challenges and goals, she works out of her comfort zone.
Meghan Krumbach, a J.D. Candidate at the University of California, Davis School of Law, is working with the Syin & Sern in a capacity of a Senior Editor and Board Member. Meghan completed her bachelors from California State University- Sacramento. Her contribution as an editor at various internationally acclaimed law reviews and her special interest in the field of Environment Law makes her an intrinsic part of the organisation.
Our Senior Editor Atmika Patnaik, is a fourth-year law student and an exchange student to U.C. Davis School of Law, California. Not only has she worked with well-known advocates of India, she also holds an exemplary record when it comes to publications and non-academic experiences, be it by being the Secretary of the Drafting Committee of her college and an avid member in the Legal Aid Clinic or Mooting and ADRs.
Vaidehi Chipkar, a third-year law student at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, is our Senior Editor. An academically bright student, Vaidehi is passionate about Corporate Law and the various mechanisms under Alternate Dispute Resolution. With her detail-oriented and observational approach, she always strives to polish her work. A baker by hobby, she aims to bake each and every idea we receive.
Deokinandan Sharma, a fourth-year law student at Jindal Global Law School, whose main interests lie in the intricacies of Sports Law. His mild OCD makes him do well in academic work and never lose points while researching. He has the ability to manage stress and produce work that does not drop below personal standards, and that adds a feather to my cap of situations he have overcome. His interests further lie in maritime and Aerospace & Defence Law.
(Tia) Monjima Ghosh
(Tia) Monjima Ghosh is a final year LLM student at the University of Dayton Ohio and is simultaneously graduating with her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Jindal Global Law School. Her particular interests lie in Competition Law and Arbitration. She believes in striving for excellence in every situation, and that success is not measured barely by achievements in the fields of academics and career. Her emphasis on quality and accuracy makes her an essential part of the team.
Ishita Singh, a fourth-year law student at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, is our Senior Editor. Her interest lies in researching and writing on various socio-economic issues relation to Constitutional Law, International Humanitarian Law and Criminal Law. Besides having keen interest in writing, she aims at learning and understanding various aspects of law and search for lacuna in them and attempts to put her best efforts in any task she takes.
Sagrika is a fourth year law student at Jindal Global Law School. They are our Senior Editor. They are passionate about constitutional law, gender studies, sociology and human rights law and they constantly update their knowledge on the same. They are also an avid researcher on law and social sciences. Mediocrity has no place when it comes to her work ethic. In their free time, you can find them writing poetry and reading philosophy.
Nandini is a final year law student pursuing B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) at Jindal Global Law School, and is our Junior Editor. She is a Competition Law enthusiast and highly enjoys reading, writing, and researching. Her experience of editing coupled with that of writing allows her to holistically review written manuscripts. With her diligence and a knack for paying attention to detail, she strives to put in her best efforts in the work that she is assigned.
Sheetal Kumar is currently pursuing her penultimate year of the B.A. LL.B (Hons.) program from Jindal Global Law School. During her time in law school, she has successfully published papers in legal journals and has participated in an international moot. She has also done several internships at reputed corporate law firms. Her main area of interest includes corporate law, financial regulatory practice. Other than her professional endeavours, she plays tennis.
Karthik Ranganathan is a graduate of O.P. Jindal Global University. During his time in Law school, he had developed an interest in various fields of law, such as corporate, ADR, taxation and Insolvency. He is currently looking for work in these fields that he have developed a passion for. He considers himself a bibliophile, with a great interest in learning something new everyday with the goal of enriching himself with all available knowledge there is.
Stuti Agrawal, a fourth-year law student at O.P Jindal Global University, is our junior editor. She is sincere, driven, and takes her work very seriously. Pursuing his fourth year at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala, he is our Junior Editor. He has an inclination towards International law, Sports law and tax law. He believed that all law subjects work together as a unique fusion. A similar fusion of hard and smart work is his pride. He feels that nothing is impossible when one puts one's heart and soul into it.
Prety is currently a third-year law student at O.P Jindal Global University. She is a content writer, editor and researcher, and is currently working as the Editor-in-Chief for the Human Rights Blog, JGLS, and a Reviewer at The Law Culture Blog. She also has her own literature blog called ‘The Oak Street’. Prety is an avid reader and loves writing about things she’s passionate about, be it law or literature.
Shambhavi is a law graduate from Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat. Although law and academia were unplanned ventures for her, they have been extremely rewarding. She is deeply inclined towards research and writing. Her academic interests include Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, Constitutional Law, and Child Rights Laws. Her other interests lie in arts, cinema, language, and literature. Eager to learn and be of service, currently she is engaged as a Research and Placement Executive at IFIM Law School.
Shubhrajit Chanda, a Ph.D. candidate and a professor from Jindal Global Law School is our Senior Editor. Subhrajit did his LL.M. in Sports Law, from Nottingham Trent University of United Kingdoms. He is also a sports enthusiast and has played for the Sports Authority of India, the eastern region. Also, Back in the UK, he has worked as a sports mentor volunteer at Nottingham Trent University Partner with Laureus Foundation and UK Media and Sports Government.
Philip Ashok Alex
Philip Ashok Alex, a fourth-year undergraduate student at National Law University, Delhi, is our Senior Editor. He shares a deep penchant in matters relating to IP laws, public international laws and commercial arbitration. Besides taking a keen interest in mooting and debating, he also enjoys reading and writing academic pieces, which was one of the foremost reasons that motivated him to take up this responsibility at Syin & Sern.
